Where are lessons held?
I am based in Tacoma, but teach students within a large radius. For that reason, lessons are held at several locations: My house, churches, schools, Pierce College (Puyallup). In some cases, lessons can be held at the student's home.
Zoom/Facetime lessons
Virtual lessons, when done right, can be just as effective as in-person lessons. Because the trombone is a more physically involved instrument, it's better if initial lessons be held in-person to address posture, breathing, and tone production. That said, for slightly more advanced students, a hybrid approach can be very successful. This is an approach where the majority of weekly lessons are held over zoom or facetime with occasional in-person lessons.
